IV sedation puts you into a very comfortable, sleep-like state which allows us to proceed with your treatment using local anesthetic. During the procedure vital signs such as blood pressure, blood oxygen level and heart rate, will be closely watched by Dr. Hodgins and his assistant using the latest in monitoring equipment. With IV sedation it is possible to use a reversal medication administered through the IV to bring a patient rapidly out of sedation if necessary which is why this is a safer sedation option than oral conscious sedation.
